COVID-19: Changes to Dismals Canyon’s Guest Services

In accordance with the State of Alabama’s most recent “Safer Apart” amendment and local government guidelines, all guests services are now open, including the Pool.

You will notice some changes when you arrive at the Canyon. These changes have been made to ensure the well-being of our Guests and Staff and to comply with State of Alabama’s “Safer Apart” mandate. To that end, we are doing the following:

  • Adapting guest areas, including signage and spacing indicators, to minimize gathering points and allow for distancing between guests.

  • Limiting the capacity of our facilities—Bathhouse, Country Store, Fountain & Decks.

  • Limiting the number of people per Night Tour to 15.

  • Ensuring that our Staff is informed and following CDC guidelines for working during COVID-19.

  • Aligning our stringent cleaning procedures to CDC guidelines, including use of CDC-compliant cleaning products, increased sanitation frequency and disinfection of high touch areas in all public spaces and cabins.

  • Providing hand sanitizer at convenient locations for guest and employee use.

  • Providing visible and frequent reminders to follow CDC guidelines for social distancing and personal hygiene via signage throughout the park.

  • Monitoring guest areas to encourage social distancing and reduce group gatherings in accordance with State mandates.

  • Stay Home if you are ILL or exhibiting symptoms of the Flu or COVID-19

All procedures are subject to change based on guidance from the CDC and applicable governmental authorities.

In order to minimize social contact, as recommended by the CDC, we ask that those of you planning to visit print the map & guide and the registration form from our website and fill it out prior to your arrival.

Remember, Social Distancing Guidelines — keep at least 6 feet apart at all times and in all spaces!
